Sherman Dockray Clark

Mr. Sherman Dockray Clark, 92,  passed beyond us Thursday, May 7 2015 in Houston, TX.  Born December 16, 1923 in Pittsburg, PA, the only son of Ralph Sherman Clark and Ella Mae Dockray Clark.

After service in the US Navy during WWII, Sherman graduated in Geology from Duke University, married his soulmate, Bert Claire Johnson and subsequently spent a career as an exploration geophysicist in all the world’s oil provinces.  Sherman loved golf and tennis all his life and played both very well into his 90’s.  He was a member of Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village, AR.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bert Claire.  He is survived by his children, Brian Dockray Clark of College Station, Texas, Janine Clark Gamble of Houston, Texas and Rendel B. Clark of Mandeville, LA; by his six grandchildren Ryan R. Clark, Lauren C. Clark, Evan D. Gamble, Marieclaire Gamble, Allison J. Poole and Brianna Clark and by his two great-grandchildren Ren and Addie Clark.

His body was sent for cremation under the direction of Cedarvale Funeral Home.  No services are scheduled at this time.
